Where to begin?! I seriously have been putting my blogging addiction on the back burner. I have not found any motivation to get updated this week. Maybe its the weather, because I have been loving, LOVING this weather! Now that I say that it will do something drastic like get cold really fast, with my luck.
First off, I want you all to know what a fabulous weekend I had! Nate and I had the most awesome opportunity to attend the Utah vs. UNLV game on Saturday night.

Nate was in uniform out on the field along with a slew of other Law Enforcement/Military personel to do the flag ceremony. The flag was about 50 yards long, and they huddled in a group as the band played and then they were supposed to disperse out into the field holding the flag. It looked awesome but from where we were sitting we didn't see the near death experience of one of the officers! It totally clotheslined him and knocked him unconcious!! It gives patriotism a whole new meaning right? It looked awesome and I was proud that my husband had a part in the program and held his ground without falling! We then went on to enjoy a great game played, with the Utes winning 42 to 21. GO UTES! My team spirit was revived, brought back many memories of cheering on the Utes while attending there back in 2000-2002. Great times!

We had a great time shouting and whistling, just trying to fit in with all the other fanatics making the game very entertaining. The part I liked best was feeling like I was in college again! Am I really that old to wish back the days of college life?? Seriously, it was fun and I told Nate that season tickets might be in order for next season! And the funniest thing is that I don't even follow football like some people I know, and find myself catagorized in the "indifferent" column when it comes to sports. "Don't know, Don't care" fits my bill but I realized that I loved the atmosphere of a winning game! Jake (cousin Erin's hub)or Aaron, (sis Lisa's man) need to teach me some trivia knowledge about the game since they seem to be the knowitalls about the legend of football! All I can say is I loved being there. So a big thanks to the Department for free tickets!
The weekend went on without a hitch, enjoying the kids and having Aunt Monica and Uncle Rivers over Sunday afternoon. After much needed inspiration from good friends, I have begun the much abhorred sport of running. Now don't imagine me with great form and beauty because that is so not me. I am red-faced and panting, whisps of hair every which way and death written all over me!

But I am so proud of myself! I started out last week with just walking/jogging and now can run most of my route, with a killer sprint at the end! Talk about monumental efforts! The kids love the bike trailer and Nate was my coach today. He kills me! He hasn't run or been to the gym in awhile but he can still kick my trash when it comes to running! And he doesn't even break a sweat! I still have lots of work to do, not that I want to aspire to marathon status, but I just want to get in shape and say that I can do it! So thank-you to all who blog about your running achievements, you have inspired me!

awesome! I LOVE running too. My goal is to run so slowly that when people pass by they think, "oh look, how cute, that fat woman is trying to run". It's fun. But it's nice to just let go and not care what people think. Running is great. check out www.coolrunning.com. They have great running articles and advice.
And the Ute game! WOW! I miss having season tickets with Glen and his Dad. I LOVE the football atmosphere.
Good for you.. you motivated mother you. I bought this awesome new pair of mizuno running shoes about 3 months ago and the most I have done in them so far is play tennis/pickleball. I have every intention of getting in the habit of running but in the a.m. when my alarm beeps at 5:30 a.m. that intention takes the form of absurdity and I fall back asleep. I'm glad you had a good time at the game, and i'm sure Aaron wouldn't mind educating you on the world of sports/teams/players/stats... he knows it all.
Glad you had a good time at the game and that you have a new love for football. And as Lisa said about Aaron, Jake too, would love to teach you anything you would like to know. It's scary how much he knows about the Utes and EVERY other sports team you've ever heard of. Trust me...you can ask him anything about sports and he'll know the answer!
And, kudos on jogging. I too have caught the bug of this sport and I am running my 3rd race this Saturday. So, when you feel up to it, Jake and I would love you to join us in a race! The longest race I will do is a 10k! Happy running!!!
Right on Dianna, way to go with your running! I'm glad you had fun at the game! Sounds like a blast!
Sounds like a fun weekend, I was a bit jealous about the game...although it wasn't because I would want to be at a Ute game...my blood runs True Cougar Blue, but I just would love to be at a college game. Maybe next year. We can't even get BYU football on TV thanks to the MNT. BAH!
Congrats on the running. I have never wanted to run, but admire those that do. I prefer my bike for the outdoors, or eliptical trainer in hot/cold weather. Hope you keep it up and CAN run a marathon someday.
I have to say you look great in that pic at the u game.
and the running- it wears me out just thinking about it!
I would really like to do a 3k and then maybe someday a 1.2 marathon. It is something I just want to say I have done. I have bad sports induced asthma though so I am not sure. Maybe we could slowly train together!
GREAT PICTURES!!! Beautiful!!! I have recently started running too!! It feels sooo good. I wish we lived closer so I could be your running partner! Keep up the good work Dianna!! BTW, that pic of you and Nate is really cute!!!
