It's hard to admit, but I am back to my reality. My short trip to St. George was just that, short. I wished that I could've had at least two more days of relaxation and shopping. It was great to spend time with my sister Lisa, and my mom and also my Aunt Katie who was visiting from Japan. My flight was well, uneventful.. Although at first, I was nervous because as we were sitting on the plane waiting to take off from SL the Pilot announced that he was having engine problems. Please don't tell me THAT!! So we got back off the plane, waited until they could round up a fulling functioning aircraft, and then boarded another plane. I used to fly quite a bit and didn't get nervous, but this time I was a little jittery.. But we landed in sunny St. George only 50 minutes later! That is seriously the way to go, SKYWEST all the way!! My sister Lisa picked me up and then we went to her office to wait for my mom and Aunt Katie. I was proud of my sis, she works really hard and even has an office with a view! It was fun to see where she spends her days slaving away. The next day I was in for a treat at Salone Sienne. Our good friends own the salon and it was fabulous! I got my hair trimmed, layered and styled! Love it! Aunt Katie was next to me getting herself beautified as well, complete with facial and pedicure! Oh and I got the opportunity to drive my cousin's mustang..that is a great car! So after being beautified, we went to lunch and shopping. Oh not to forget seeing 'Mamma Mia'. For those who want a GIRLs night out, see that movie. It is so entertaining and fun! Loved it!
I also loved going on a bikeride with Lisa at 10:30 pm, the moon was still full so it lit the way. We went down what locals call "thrill hill" and I think I rewound like 10 years with the air in my hair and smelling the sweet smell of alfalfa in the fields! Call me corny but it brings a smile to my face just thinking about it!
We also went to see "Fly Boys" which is a movie that was filmed in St. George and Hurricane. It was exciting to see familiar stomping ground on the big screen! Its a great family film! Can you tell I took advantage of movie going while I was there?! Its a favorite pasttime, one that I don't get out to do much with small children!
I loved being able to "ease into the day" with waking up when I wanted to, reading the Spectrum over breakfast, and taking as long as I wanted getting ready for the day!
The flight home was beautiful! I looked out the window and spotted Zion, Bryce and all the beautiful lakes, rivers, and mountains. The view from above is breathtaking. It made me marvel at all the beauty our state offers!
All in all, my trip was full of fun, a new tradition we will do every year from here on out. Next year my other sis Monica and sis-in-law Alysia will have to join us!
Nate did awesome with the kids, he's the greatest!!! Emily even got compliments on her hair at school and her teacher was surprised to find out Nate did her hair! It was fun to talk to them over the phone and hear Easton say, "miss you mommy!" Heartstrings! But I have to admit the few times I heard screaming in the background, I was so relieved I didn't have to deal with it! I think every mom should have a get-a-way, so that daddy can experience what we go through on a daily basis! Nate says he appreciated me before but having me gone deepened his appreciation for all the mundane tasks that need doing. I'm greatful this was all his idea! It was great to see the excitement on the kids when they picked me up from the airport! We stayed up late talking about what had been going on, and Emily was thrilled to see my new clothes! Maybe next year Emily can join our girl party!! As Uncle Aaron said, "girl power"!!! Which bytheway Aaron, thanks for the plane tickets, you are awesome!!!
Oh and we had so much fun that the camera was always left at home!!! =(

It was sooo fun!! We really should make it a tradition... and Emily might be old enough next year to come along too. Much Luv!
How fun! Sorry I missed you in the produce section. Darn! I was there, but I think you were getting beautified. :o) I love to drive down "thrill hill" too. It reminds me of the times that my young women leader would take all us girls down it just for the heck of it. I take my kids down it sometimes just to feel that little jump in my stomach and be reminded of the good ole days. I'm glad you had such a great time!
That's good that you got a get-away. I just left my fam for a few days too. I had a conference in Park City...I missed the kids, but Tom also did great with them...dunno about the hair part, though. Tom usually puts Hannah's hair in a pony tail, but that's okay. You always do such cute hair styles on Emily!!
Can't wait to see your new hair cut! What fun you had! Every minute seemed to be spent to the fullest potential! What a great trip!
I am glad you had fun. I have only done that once in 11 years of marriage. Come over a visit or lunch.
girl's night out is the best. More than a day would be heaven on earth. It always makes me feel refreshed and ready to renew my great mom, awesome wife mode. glad you had a good time.
SOunds like a good time! I experienced my first girls trip a couple months ago and LOVED it. It's definatley a yearly thing. It's nice to hear from the husbands when you get home that they respect you for being a 24-7 mom!
